scope
The digital marketing team needed an overhaul of the existing deals page and create a new activations page for purchased vacation offers.
The goals of the project was to improve usability for desktop and mobile experiences, and to streamline the transaction process to increase online bookings.
contribution
The first step was to gather existing artifacts that would help with user flow and UI. I worked closely with the business to ensure I had all the necessary content to start laying out my LoFi comps.
The project involved several pages that interfaced with members and guests. This includes improvement to the new members area package deals pages, and resort deals detail page with all pages terminating on a user making a transaction.
With several more rounds of iterations, I ensured to apply best UX/UI practices to create the HiFi prototype screens. Upon approval, I did a dev handoff and partnered with devs, client, BAs and project managers to ensure the design and function were aligned.
Challenges
Using existing site components in Drupal altered the visual outcome from the intended design. I partnered with BAs, Project Managers, clients and developers to make certain areas work with the constraints I was faced with. You’ll see here that the outcome was slightly different.
Lessons Learned
Work closely with devs and client early, iterate and test often.
approach
To keep the user cognitive thinking very low, I designed the layout to include large amounts of whitespace for hierarchal clarity. This would help the user stay focused on their intended action.
